Keep It Clean
I know, it sounds a bit redundant. How can you clean a cleaning a tank? Depending upon the industry, ultrasonic cleaners can be tasked with cleaning some pretty gnarly parts. For instance, if you are in the automobile parts industry, you are stripping these parts of grime and dirt that end up in the tank. To ensure your tank is spotless, take the time to wipe down the tank when the cleaning solution is drained to ensure no remnants of the previous job are left behind. You will also need to maintain the cleaning agent and change it out to ensure the agent’s effectiveness is not diluted. Allowing buildup in the bottom of the tanks can also reduce the effectiveness of the transducers, so make your ultrasonic cleaners are spotless after a cleaning job as they were before it.
Protect Your Unit
When the unit is not in use, keep it covered up, specifically the parts cleaner. Keeping the cleaner covered will ensure that dust and small particles floating around in the air do not get into the ultrasonic cleaners and impact its effectiveness. If you allow airborne particles to accumulate in the machine, you are already starting with a dirty ultrasonic cleaner at the start of the job, thereby reducing its effectiveness.

Think when you are doing dishes at home and loading up the dishwasher. Do you leave the leftover pasta on the plate or rinse it off and put it down the garbage disposal before loading the dish into the dishwasher? Most of us rinse it off because we do not want excessive food bouncing around in the dishwasher. The same is true of extremely dirty parts. If you can pre-rinse those parts and get off the heavy gunk, the ultrasonic cleaners can get deeper into those parts, clean them more effectively, and reduce the overall cleaning time.
