When you invest in an ultrasonic cleaner, we want to ensure you extend your tank’s life for as long as possible. If you take care of the machine properly, using best practices to clean the different parts, this piece of equipment can last for decades. By using best practices, regular preventive maintenance, and using the proper cleaners, you will have a longer lifespan of the equipment, increase your profits, and make the most of your working hours.
Always Maintain Proper Cleaning Solution Levels
Your tank should always be about two-thirds of the way full with your cleaning solution. In some cases, depending on the tank, it will have an “ideal” fill line that should be observed. You want to observe these cleaning solution levels for optimal cleaning. Too much cleaning solution and your parts may not be cleaned properly. Too little, and you can damage the tank and possibly the parts you are cleaning.
Also, remember that the number of parts you are putting into the tank will impact your solution level as well, meaning the more and heavier parts, the higher the solution will go.
Maintaining the solution will also include ensuring that the solution is serviced between cleanings. Every time the cleaning solution is used, it will decrease its efficiency. However, you can prolong its lifespan by skimming the contaminants between cleanings. Use a skimmer to remove these contaminants between uses, although, eventually, you will have to drain and replace the solution.
Maintaining Your Ultrasonic Cleaning Tank
Every time you drain the used cleaning solution from the tank, take advantage of the empty tank to give it a thorough cleaning. You will probably see some sediment that has settled on the bottom of the tank as well as around the edges.
A word of warning… do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the tank. As you may have guessed, our technicians can suggest the proper cleaning solution to clean the tank safely and properly.
Use the Basket
One thing you never want to do is place items in the bottom of the tank without using the basket. Due to the nature of the cleaning process, allowing parts to come into direct contact with the tank could eventually damage the tank and cause a leak.
The tank baskets ensure the parts are optimally placed for the most efficient cleaning. Again, we highly suggest you speak with a team member to specifically discuss what you will be cleaning to ensure you have the proper tank and accessories for optimal results.
Choosing the Right Cleaning Solution
Different parts will need different solutions. For example, you will not need the same type of cleaning solution for car parts as you would for dental tools, obviously. Now, this does not mean your tank cannot be used for different cleaning jobs, as that is far from the case. However, you will want to make sure you are using the best possible cleaning agent for your specific job as well as cleaning out the tank if you are to switch cleaning projects (in most cases). If the cleaning solution you were using is still fairly fresh, you can save it to refill the tank when you go back to that task.
